We are all asked who we want to be, what we want to become and what our dreams and goals are, we are asked when we are young, we are asked when we become teens and we are asked for the last time in matric. Well who the hell knows?
When we are young the only thing we think about is coloring your picture as best as you can so you can get a lollipop or to focus on making sure you actually nap during nap time but we never seemed to actually nap. Then we grew up a little and the only thing we focused on was the play date at the end of the day. By the time we got to grade 7 we focused on homework, well we were supposed to focus on homework. Grade 9 we are focusing on the rest of our lives, we are so young and so much pressure is put on us to chose what we want to do for the rest of our lives, speak about a big decision, at this age we don't want to think about the rest of our life, we want to think about that cute boy that you sits behind you math. By matric everyone is so focused on getting into the university of their dreams, and those dreaded exam finals. Parents push their kids to do what they want them to, but you can't, let us follow our dreams, you have made mistakes so let your children make them too, I'm sure you brought them up as lovely people but its now time to let them grow up and live their own dreams. Its harder to learn from someone else's mistakes than it is to learn from your own. Everyone asks you what you want to be when you are older, in grade one we want to be a princess or pirate, grade 7 a pop star or super model, grade 9 a doctor or lawyer and matric, well who the hell knows?
